Hairitage Drops Dynamic Debut Album, ‘Negatives’
Hairitage has released his debut album, Negatives.
Released last week in partnership with Create Music Group, the nine-track LP sees the bearded bass producer showcase his supreme studio versatility across nine bass-heavy bangers, melding various styles, from dubstep and drum & bass to bass house and grime.
Hairitage comes out of the gate swinging on Negatives, throwing the listener straight into the heart of the rave with two blistering drum & bass tunes in “Come Back To Me,” and “Everytime The Beat Drops” before dishing out diabolical dubstep on riddim-influenced track “Boss” and a thunderous headbanger anthem in “Break Your Neck.”
Later, bass house is mashed up with wildly experimental sonics and electro dubstep on tracks like “The Rhythm” and “Push Jump Dance Groove,” and “Kick It” pushes the tempo into speed house armageddon ahead of spinback-worthy grime on “Throw Ass.”
The album’s standout track, “Badman,” sees Hairitage link back up with a familiar collaborator, rapper and songwriter Daemon, who fans will recognize from previous Hairitage tracks like “The Uncrowned King” and “Parabellum.”
Discussing the project on Instagram, Hairitage wrote, “When I first started making this, I had trouble figuring out a concept but then I just said f*ck it and started thinking what are all my favorite things and started mashing them together like legos until I got something I liked and something that honestly feels different, with even more variety than you’ve come to expect from me!”
In support of Negatives, Hairitage will hit the road for a six-date album tour this fall, stopping in cities like Portland, Denver, New York, and Austin, among others. Each gig on the six-date run will feature a stripped-down production package with a marked focus on lighting and the music, as opposed to crazy visuals. Find a full list of tour dates here. He’ll also play Lost Lands, WAKAAN, and BOO Seattle through late October.
